Suppliers of energy feedback devices for frequency converters remind you that frequency converters are composed of many electronic components, such as semiconductor components, which require replacement of certain related parts during use and maintenance. Due to the composition or physical characteristics of the frequency converter, it may deteriorate over a certain period of time, thereby reducing its characteristics and even causing malfunctions. Therefore, in order to prevent maintenance, the following 5 major parts must be replaced regularly.
1. Replace the capacitor
Large capacity electrolytic capacitors are used in the intermediate DC circuit, but their performance deteriorates due to factors such as pulse current. Deterioration is greatly affected by the surrounding temperature and usage conditions. Generally, the service life is about 5 years. The deterioration of capacitors develops rapidly after a certain period of time, so the longest inspection cycle is one year, and the last half year is close to the service life.
2. Replace the cooling fan
The cooling fan of the semiconductor components in the main circuit of the frequency converter accelerates heat dissipation to ensure normal operation below the allowable temperature. The lifespan of the cooling fan is limited by the bearings, which are approximately 10000 to 35000 hours. When the frequency converter operates continuously, the fan or bearings need to be replaced after a few years. The replacement period of cooling fans is greatly affected by the surrounding temperature. When abnormal sounds or vibrations are found during inspection, the frequency converter manufacturer recommends that the cooling fan must be replaced immediately.
3. Replace the relay/contactor
After reaching a certain cumulative switching frequency, poor contact occurs in relays and contactors, which requires inspection and replacement.
4. Replace the fuse
The rated current of the fuse is large and the load current is high. Under normal use conditions, the lifespan is about 10 years, and it needs to be inspected, maintained, or even replaced during this time.
5. Replace the timer
After several years of use, the action time of the timer will change significantly, so it should be replaced after checking the action time.
