How to maintain a frequency converter that has been stored for too long

The braking unit supplier reminds you that during the process of repairing the frequency converter, we often encounter situations where the frequency converter is damaged due to prolonged storage time. Although this may sound unbelievable, it is indeed a common occurrence. If the frequency converter is damaged or repaired due to improper maintenance, it will really consume manpower and financial resources, and have a significant impact on the company's operations.

If the frequency converter is placed for more than six months before use, the probability of damage is relatively high due to factors such as the placement environment, the service life of the frequency converter, and the load rate. Generally, the following problems may occur:

1. Inverter power transmission, front-end circuit breaker tripping, inverter explosion;

2. The frequency converter is delivering power, but there is no display on the panel;

3. The frequency converter can deliver power, but malfunctions after operation;

4. The frequency converter can provide power, but it will explode after operation.

In addition, some frequency converters in daily life can still be used normally after being left for a period of time. This phenomenon is actually quite common, mainly because:

1. The storage environment of the frequency converter is good;

2. The frequency converter has not been working in an overheated or overloaded condition for a long time;

3. The service life of the frequency converter is relatively short;

4. The capacitance characteristics inside the frequency converter are relatively good.

So how should we place the frequency converter when it is not in use to maintain it properly? Let's take a look together below:

1. The frequency converter should be stored in the packaging box;

2. It is best to place it in a place without sunlight, dust, and dryness;

3. The optimal ambient temperature for the storage location is within the range of -20 to 40 degrees Celsius;

4. The relative humidity of the storage location should be within the range of 20% to 90%, and there should be no condensation;

5. The frequency converter should avoid long-term storage in environments containing corrosive gases and liquids.
