Precautions for using braking equipment in hot weather

The braking unit supplier reminds you that when using the frequency converter in hot weather, it is even more important to pay attention to maintenance and upkeep. You should pay attention to the temperature of the installation environment of the frequency converter, regularly clean the dust inside the frequency converter, and ensure the smoothness of the cooling air path. Strengthen inspections and improve the surrounding environment of frequency converters, motors, and circuits. Check if the wiring terminals are securely fastened to ensure the correct and reliable connection of all electrical components. Prevent unnecessary shutdown accidents from occurring.

1. Check the operating status of the frequency converter, whether the voltage and current values during operation are within the normal range.

2. Carefully monitor and record the ambient temperature of the frequency conversion room, which is generally between -5 ℃ and 40 ℃. The temperature rise of the phase-shifting transformer cannot exceed 130 ℃.

3. Avoid direct sunlight, damp areas, and areas with water droplets. Summer is a rainy season, so it is important to prevent rainwater from entering the interior of the inverter (such as rainwater entering through the tailwind outlet).

4. Inverter installation:

(1) The temperature is high in summer, so it is necessary to strengthen the ventilation and heat dissipation of the frequency converter installation site. Ensure that the surrounding air does not contain excessive dust, acids, salts, corrosive and explosive gases.

(2) In order to maintain good ventilation, the distance between the frequency converter and surrounding obstacles should be ≥ 125px on both sides and ≥ 300px above and below.

(3) In order to improve the cooling effect, all frequency converters should be installed vertically. To prevent foreign objects from falling on the air outlet of the frequency converter and blocking the air duct, it is better to install a protective mesh cover above the frequency converter air outlet.

(4) When two or more frequency converters are installed in a control cabinet, they should be installed side by side (horizontally arranged) as much as possible. If vertical arrangement is necessary, a horizontal partition should be installed between the two frequency converters to prevent hot air from the lower frequency converter from entering the upper frequency converter.

5. During normal operation of the frequency converter, a standard thickness A4 paper should be able to firmly adhere to the filter screen at the cabinet door inlet.

6.  Regularly clean the fan and air duct according to the on-site environment to prevent blockage; Especially in the textile industry, there is a lot of cotton fluff that needs to be cleaned regularly; However, it should be noted that when cleaning the fan duct, it is strictly prohibited to operate with electricity and safety should be taken into account.

7. The temperature of the air outlet of the inverter power unit cabinet cannot exceed 55 ℃.

8. Regularly check the ventilation and heat dissipation equipment of the frequency converter to ensure normal operation, especially the built-in fan of the frequency converter. So how to determine if there is a problem with the fan?

① Check the appearance of the fan and whether the power cord of the fan is detached or damaged; Check if the fan blades are broken;

② Listen for any abnormal noise from the fan;

③ If both of the above points are normal, please check the F8-48 (cooling fan control) parameter and set it to 1. If the fan is not running, use a multimeter to check if the fan voltage is normal, usually around 24V. If it is not normal, there may be a problem with the fan. Try replacing the fan. If the 24V is not normal, unplug the fan power cord and test the 24V again. If it is still normal after unplugging, it indicates that there is a problem with the power board. If it is normal after unplugging the power supply, there may be an internal short circuit in the fan.
