Functions and Role of Frequency Converter External Commonly Used Accessories

Circuit breaker:

Installed between the input side of the power supply and the frequency converter.

Short circuit breaker: Cut off the power when the downstream equipment is overcurrent to prevent accidents.

Leakage protection circuit breaker: the frequency converter may produce high-frequency leakage current when working, in order to prevent electric shock accidents and induce electric fire, please choose the appropriate leakage protection circuit breaker according to the situation in the field.

Fuse:

Prevent accidents due to short circuits and protect the back-end semiconductor devices.

 (Electromagnetic) Contactor:

Frequency converter interruption operation, should avoid frequent up and down power operation of the frequency converter through the contactor (interval time is not less than one hour) or direct start operation.

AC Input Resistor:

Increase the power factor on the input side;

Effectively eliminate the high harmonic on the input side, preventing damage to other equipment due to voltage waveform distortion; Eliminate input current imbalance caused by power phase imbalance.

EMC filter:

Reduce frequency converter external conduction and radiation interference; Reduce the conductive interference from the power end to the frequency converter and improve the anti-interference capability of the frequency converter.

Simple filter:

Reduce conduction and radiation interference from the inverter.

Brake Resistor/Brake Resistor:

The motor consumes renewable energy through the braking resistance when decelerating.

DC Resistor:

Increase the power factor on the input side;

Improve the efficiency and thermal stability of the entire frequency converter;

Effectively eliminate the effect of input side high harmonic on the frequency converter, reduce external conduction and radiation interference.

Output resistor:

The output side of the frequency converter generally contains more high harmonics. When the motor and the frequency converter are far away, because there is a larger distribution capacitor in the line. Sometimes

Harmonics can resonate in the circuit, bringing two effects:

1. Damage to motor insulation performance, will damage the motor for a long time.

2. Generate large leakage current, causing frequency converter frequent protection.

Installing an output resistor protects the motor insulation and reduces the bearing current.
